Meet Nicole Martineau

It has been such an honor to serve my city and greater community as a Puyallup City Council member and has been my privilege to be a resident in Puyallup since my youth. As a former participant in the Daffodil Parade, Top Twenty Senior at Puyallup High School, a Pride of Puyallup recipient in college, and a current Puyallup City Council Member, I have always tried to stay connected to my community.

It's been my pleasure to get to know Nicole Martineau over the last couple of years as she has participated on the Puyallup City Council. I have observed Nicole's work on the Council, particularly in working for some of our most vulnerable citizens. Nicole is a committed, responsible, authentic and passionate woman who puts public service ahead of political self interest. At the personal level, Nicole is sensitive, caring, approachable and determined to represent her constituents well. I have every confidence that Nicole will continue to be an effective and diligent city council member for Puyallup. - Ted D. Brackman, Puyallup Homeless Coalition

"My wife and I have been residents in Puyallup for over 50 years. We are excited about council candidate Nicole Martineau. She is a young, energetic council representative, with new ideas and our future in mind." -Bob Kastama

"I have found Ms. Martineau to be an active City Council member who is very knowledgeable regarding the issues that come to the council. She has always responded to my e-mails when I've had a concern. I am also very impressed how civil she is to those whom insist on bad-mouthing her. I was appalled at the recent Candidates' Forum when her opponent attacked her. It was refreshing to note that Ms. Martineau's opponent was the only candidate to display such poor behavior." -M. Desta Taylor

"As founder of Sustainable Puyallup I'm currently speaking for all of us. We as a group happily endorse Nicole, and have never before endorsed anyone for Puyallup City Council. That many of us separately noticed what great work Nicole does in the community, and how she's smart and positive and civil is what made us decide to endorse her in the current election.

She may not be as radical as I am, but she sincerely cares about long-term community issues (which of course includes sustainability) and so she's just the kind of person I want on the Council. Thank you Nicole for running!!!" -Kelda Miller
